Welcome to our Orientation site!
As you begin your journey at the Silberman School of Social Work, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the resources (that can be found on this site) that will support you along the way.
Please be sure that you have fully reviewed your acceptance email and completed all 7 steps outlined. This will ensure you are all set to register for your courses.
You can review the drop-down tabs on this Orientation site for pertinent and useful information:
- Student Services: Academic Advising and Student Services contacts, Office of AccessABILITY and student email information
- Registration: Course registration tutorial and MSW Curriculum Grids
- Financial Aid: Financial Aid vs Bursar Offices, Scholarship information
- Practicum Education: Field Education requirements, Planning form links and contact information
- Resources: Orientation Checklist, Orientation Packet, Student Agreement and Trainings
- Recordings & Readings: As we complete informational sessions leading up to the start of your semester, you can access a recorded version for review.
- Self-Care Module: This is for you to build up your wellness tools/your protective social work practice as you look ahead to starting your MSW program at Silberman.
Over the next weeks, we look forward to having you join us on a series of zoom events that will further outline all requirements prior to the start of classes and give you an opportunity to meet your fellow new students. We will also plan optional in person events at the school for you to familiarize yourself with the community and meet your colleagues.
Our goal is to assist you in getting all the “business” taken care of, so when classes start you can dive in with all your attention where it needs to be. We look forward to supporting you all along the way- especially during this beginning phase of the work. So, let’s get started!
We look forward to supporting you through this exciting journey!
Best,
